1: "Whoever is out of patience is out of possession of their soul." - Sir Francis Bacon
Don't let the world frustrate and anger you to a point where you are out of patience and desperate. Patience is the key to finding success in all kinds of life's pursuits.
2: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The only way for us to defeat darkness is bring it to light. We mush find a way to love and hold some level of compassion even for the one's we could hate so easily.
3. "Change is a law of life. And those looking only to the past and present are certain to miss the future." John F. Kennedy
If we are so focused on our past and our current conditions we are being selfish and taking away from our children's future. Don't forget to plan for a better tomorrow.
4. "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Confucius
As a country we have made many mistakes but we have alway gotten back up and moved forward and corrected our problems. We voted to end slavery. We voted to let women vote. We voted to enact civil rights. We are the most giving nation and we are capable of so many good things. Let's focus on our good and get back up.
5. "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be." Thomas Jefferson.
We must all think about our actions and what is in our hearts. We must learn to work with each other in ways that seem foreign now. We must find ways to be civil and some of that comes with forgiveness. We must be ever mindful of our real enemies and learn to work together. If not, I fear will this path will lead us.
