We need this kind of effort now in 2018 to help build the USA up and improve the lives of all Americans!
I'm all for helping people in other countries, but we have a huge homeless and/or poverty level living problem in the USA!
In Collin County where I live on one night approximately 425 people were counted as homeless - that included men, women and children.
Stop thinking that anyone that is homeless is lazy, on drugs or whatever; that they deserve to be homeless, hungry,etc..
If you are a Christian, that is not biblical.
I'm so tired of seeing people in the USA just buying more stuff for themselves and not helping their local community, city and/or state.
Stop blaming the problems of the USA on the government.
Do something yourself!
Please listen and think about starting a new movement to give of yourself, your money and if you are a Christian remember we are supposed to be the hands and feet of Christ!
One last thing... wow Michael Jackson... so sorry he passed away at age 50!

I couldn't agree with you more. Consumerism is a plague on the people, forgetting what is truly important all in search of cheap dish towels that most likely were cheaper three months ago.
It's sad that so many of those glorious voices are lost to us now, but man oh man......what a track they laid down that day! So powerful <3

Agree. Best to help others at a local charity where you know how the funds are to be be distributed. I saw a piece recently on where the funds for Live Aid went- not pretty...

Everyone thinks it's just the bigger cities like Dallas that have the problem, but that's not true!
that's so sad and I hope things improve, it doesn't seem like there should be ANY in this country!
Thank you for sharing these wise words with us @violetmed It is so easy for people to be judgemental of others without knowing the circumstances behind each, individual life. What I do know is this. No one willingly chooses poverty and homelessness, but with homelessness comes hopelessness and that is where we, who have shelter, food, comfort and loved ones around us need to reach out and do our bit to help. The scripture you have provided is appropriate for any time of the year but even more so, as Christmas approaches.

I remember this song so well. I was a goofy middle school kid, but the song was way popular. I like that they gave Bob Dylan the mic for a second.
Life is very short and 33 years seems like yesterday. Our Father in heaven does know what we do in secret. I feel tempted to clash the gong here but I will just say the greatest reward can not be measured.
Great words. Helping others is what Jesus taught us while he was still on earth.
Lets do good every moment we have the opportunity to do so.
