I have had my time living in the city and I hate it. If I could, I'd opt living nearby beaches or mountain and grow my own staple. I honestly thought holland has clean air, but maybe with amount of people smoking ,well it's not a good place for someone with respiratory problem.
Another thing I like about Europe is that, you can switch country easily within 2000 km and experience new cultures, new people and basically new environment. That's actually a great place to start a new, refreshing life. It looks serene, cold and well, I'd love to have a coffee, read book on lazy sunday in that kind of environment. You definitely pick a great place.

The air here is probably considered clean compared to many other countries but definitely not the cleanest of Europe. Especially in the cities, where I've always lived, the air is far from clean. Mainly due to industry and motor vehicle pollution. Most people don't really notice it, but for people like me it's enough to give me chronic health issues. Nothing I can't handle though ;)
I have actually never been outside of Europe. The furthest away from home, was months ago - my half year stay on El Hierro, Canary islands.
Furthest north, I've been to Norway, Sweden and Denmark. It sure is quite easy to travel through Europe although it has become a little more difficult lately due to safety issues because of fear of terrorist attacks and all.
Nevertheless, Portugal or Spain are quite easy to reach and I can't wait to head into that direction soon...
