The question is; What should I do?

Don't do the most beneficial or the most useful, because although your results are good, your way of thinking will be harmful.

Don't do what others want you to do, because even if they like you, you will never like yourself.

Don't do what looks good, because even if it does, it won't be, and worse than that, you'll know.

Don't do what the wise would do in your position, because even if your results are similar, you will never be like them.

Don't do what is necessary, because you will lower your ideas to instincts, and your actions to reactions.

Do, all you have to do, what you know you should do...

…the right thing

If you always do the right thing -and I don't mean what someone told you was the right thing, but what you yourself, by nature, you know is right- then you will never regret your actions.

Don't hesitate.

Just do it.

Perhaps in this way you can learn, if you did not know before, that happiness consists in the practice of virtue.
