'Wild Garlic'

If you are walking close to the Croatian side of the Adriatic sea, you'll find many edible plants. One might not be able to tell which ones can be safely consumed before shown by a local. Well, this applies to many other things, as well, so it's no surprise.

Beautiful purple flowers usually find in a bunch like on the picture, but also easily alone, will let know that you've come across some wild garlic.

Here is the close-up. The smell is not very strong but if you come closer, you might feel a specific scent.

Then, if you pull the poor thing and pluck it out, you'll find the root resembling a classic garlic. Before you do this, please make sure that you are not in a protected area where they shouldn't be picked.

All for you left to do is to peel it off and eat it. :)
