'Agave'
There are almost 300 hundred varieties of this plant which I've found at the Adriatic Sea. Some varieties are native to South America only, while the most of them grow in Mexico. Its leaves have spikes on top. Some people say it can cure certain diseases.
Remembering tequila is made from it, no wonder it cures every illness! :D
Natives in Mexico make soups after drying the leaves. I've never tried that.
It can grow on places with not much earth and with limited supplies of water. This one appears to be growing from a stone.
Nature is so full of wonders which we should take more heed about. I believe that every plant has a secret. Many plants can be put to good use for our health. We just walk past them as if nothing. Well, most of us do...

This plant, also named as maguey and mezcal, is well known in this area of America, especially in Mexico, as you say, @velimir! They not only make tequila with it and it is medicinal, but also aguardiente de cocuy and even paper and cloves. In other words, its use is extremely varied. These species that you caught with your lens have the stalks (leaves) in development. There are some that can be big and fat, and they even grow flowers. Today you brought not only visual beauty, but also important information. Beautiful day.
I, like you, am an admirer of things that seem simple, I think they hide very interesting things. Like this plant, surely many pass by and do not notice it, do not give it the importance or value that it has, but besides being beautiful, I have heard that it is useful for many things, as you said. I also believe that we must devote more time to nature and its protection. Without plants and animals, there would not be us. They give us food, building materials and medicines.

@velimir hello 👋 sir Wow is very nice to see this medicine plant. It is 100% true to many diseases of this tree. It is available in almost all places. It has a lot of thorns on it. Looks like a bit like the Elobera tree to see it. These trees are usually found in dry areas. But they have been alive for a long time. Where they are born once. Almost all the places around there occupied the place. But these are pictures of where are you ??? Any place ??.. 💐 💐 💐 💐
