I've got a bunch of tiny income streams, from investments to publications. Mostly I live cheap. I think that's the key.
Ya, that's definitely the most important factor. Did you have some other higher income before that allowed you to buy your van? That's what I did with my car. I had a good paying job for a number of years and paid off my car during that period.
Yeah, I raised the retirement fund and paid cash.
