EL ADOBE - THE ADOBE

Como Adobe las personas identifican a todas aquellas edificaciones construidas utilizando los sistemas de Tierra. Sin embargo esto no es correcto, porque el Adobe es apenas el bloque elaborado a partir de tierra que debe tener unas condiciones y características fáciles de determinar.

El sistema constructivo de Tierra con el cual se puede construir una edificación cualquier puede ser bajo la técnica del Bahareque, con el uso del Adobe o con el levantamiento de las paredes a partir de encofrado que conforman la Tapia.

Otro concepto que me preocupa tiende a confundir a las personas, es cuando expresan que el Adobe es resistente a cualquier movimiento telúrico, nada más falso, el Adobe repito es un elemento dentro del sistema constructivo y su uso va a depender del concepto en el diseño, bien como muros portantes de carga o como cerramiento (paredes). Puede que dé el mejor estudio de resistencia, pero ello no implica que de no aplicar un buen diseño, funcione como sistema.

Hoy en día, y tras estudios que se han hecho en diferentes lugares del mundo, se puede decir que hay dos tipos de bloques elaborados con Tierra, se tiene el Adobe propiamente dicho y el bloque de tierra-cemento; el primero se confecciona de manera artesanal, utilizando en la mayoría de los casos un molde de madera, el segundo se elabora con una máquina que presiona y compacta la mezcla que contiene una cierta cantidad de cemento para su cohesión.

En ambos casos, se debe dejar preferiblemente en lugares frescos a la sombra para su secado, sin exponerlos al sol para evitar la evaporación abrupta de la humedad que contienen, pues el material al secar de esa manera tiende a agrietarse. Otra recomendación es regarlos con poca agua por encima y darle vuelta para que se aireen equitativamente.

Sea con Adobe o con Tierra-cemento, se pueden construir hermosas casas, y una gran ventaja que tienen ambos bloques es que se auto regulan, es decir, durante el día absorben las altas temperaturas del calor manteniendo la frescura en el interior de la vivienda, mientras que durante las noches protegen del frio.
