I was watching a video and these words stuck in my mind that humans are "hungry for information". My mind is asking why I mean why we are like this. I found this information appealing and I know this is the truth. Information is the key to unlock almost everything on earth. Based on the information we call someone a specialist, as I believe experience is also a form of information.

I examined myself using these words and I found I am too hungry for information. However, what type of information you are hungry, can depend on your priorities. I start digging daily for something, smart watches, laptops, cell phone, processors, website designs, match results, home remedies, etc. But why I am doing this, why am I not taking a break. What is keeping me engaged for this process? Who is controlling this side of mine? Am I made to do this?

The drawback of more knowledge is that you cannot enjoy things like you used too when you have less knowledge. I would like to quote an example here to prove this statement. In my childhood, the moon was an amazing thing for me (though it is still in a different form). I used to watch the moon for hours and let my imagination made all the stories. What a funny and amazing thing was the moon for me. After reading the science behind the moon, now I see a planet or a ball hanging in space and providing us light as a reflector. It was worst to know that moon, my hero, has no light of its own.

I realized that mystery part of anything attracts us the most and that is why we start digging for that particular thing which is hitting our brain side. Same goes for the moon, that it is still amazing for me to see how the moon is up there and daily performing the same operation. Though I don't know anything about this process, as compared to childhood that fund is gone. So my conclusion is that the mystery factor inside us is the one asking us to satisfy the thirst of knowing more about anything.

Please share your view about this topic, and are you also astonished at this like I am. Why do you think that we are hungry for information?

@uio, In my opinion our last generation gifted this phenomenon to us and by that i mean, work, work and work. Now in this Digital world we are just want to build, build and build and when we have numerous options then thoughts come into mind like, may be i will stay behind so i need more information to stay ahead in the game.

Life just became a Race.

Well said man, it's like you are in a race and fear of staying behind is pushing you constantly :)

Absolutely true. Let's hope that there will be a day when people will understand true meaning of life.

This is so true. I feel that an actual phenomenon is at work here and we are all part of it. All of us together on earth are experiencing ( I believe) an acceleration in consciousness. According to Kabbalah it is birthing pains. And I also believe its Biblical: Information will increase and people will be travelling to and fro (or something to that effect)... I think we are living in a beautiful time of light, but we must break down the old faulty system. Good on you for your post!

This is only way to keep yourself updated .. always stay hungry to learn good knowledge !!

Hunger for information can be good and should be fostered, especially to preschool generations. At birth a baby's brain can contain 100 billion neurons, its like a freaking galaxy. Then the brain undergoes certain changes, forming synapses, at birth the number of synapses per neuron is 2,500, and by age 3, its about 15000 per neuron. Its a crucial age in a child's life, and should be used well i.e. feeding information and fostering certain skills and interest, because this opportunity is a one in a life time. Most synapses formed until age 5 make up the majority of synapses until the rest of your life. Sadly the preschool years of many children get polluted by gazing into smartphones and tablets, consuming stupid Youtube videos. Don't get me wrong I LOVE TECH, its just that many parents fail to implement it correctly, creating a hunger for bad and useless information in kids.

"hunger" for information, it is natural to "know". that has made us thinking and thirsty to know and understand.

That's why we have something to do always and we never get tired of life.

I need to take a nap now, but I really want to read it through later.
So, perhaps my comment will show this to me in my profile later

I was intrigued by this idea of why we're hungry for information.
And I love being hungry for information, because new information gives me new ideas.

And I might get totally different ideas that aren't given in the material I'm consuming at that point.

And I absolutely love getting new ideas.

And because I was in the @quarry app community, I was mentioning about this Steemit community and I am absolutely loving it to be here.
