Love is Not Rude

Love is certainly not rude. While I know that I am guilty of having been rude, I despise rudeness! I do my best to show only loving-kindness, no matter the situation! Being rude is never an act of love! Rudeness is negative and does nothing to uplift others!

From Oxford Dictionaries:

Rude:

  1. offensively impolite or ill-mannered: "she had been rude to her boss" synonyms: bad-mannered · impolite · discourteous · uncivil
    • referring to a taboo subject such as sex in a way considered improper and offensive: "he made a rude gesture"synonyms: vulgar · coarse · smutty · dirty · filthy · crude · lewd · obscene
    • having a startling abruptness: "the war came as a very rude awakening"synonyms: abrupt · sudden · sharp · startling · unpleasant · nasty · harsh

You can totally tell that people who are being rude are not practicing love. It's easy to be rude when you don't feel good, when someone is rude to you, when you're angry, etc., but that's never an excuse. Rudeness and love are not related!

Because love is not rude.

Love is everything rude is not -- gentle, polite, nice, etc.

I want to show love by not being rude!

You are right ~ rudeness is a lack of love and respect for self and others.

It costs nothing to be pleasant or, if not feeling the vibe, quietly pass on by.

Stumbled upon you and happy to have done so ~ I am an artist/writer/lightworker with tales to tell; I invite you to pop by for a virtual cuppa!

Thank you so much, @ldacey-laforge!

. . .if not feeling the vibe, quietly pass on by.

I really like that! I think I am going to quote you from now on!

Blessing!

Thanks for the reminder @uglysweater. I repeat this with my family quite often. It can be easy to be rude at home, when we get "comfortable." But it is never an excuse :)

You are so right, there's no excuse! :)

As I'm reading this, I'm realizing how much easier it is to be polite to strangers than those we love the most! Just today, I'm thinking of how many times I spoke to my kids in a way that I wouldn't dare speak to a friend or acquaintance! I think most of us are guilty of that at some time or another, and when I just had one young sweet baby, I remember seeing other stressed out mothers, naively thinking I would never do that.

Well, I adore all 4 of my babies, but it's definitely an exercise in self-control for me. Thanks for the gentle reminder. I know what I'll be working on tomorrow!

You are never rude! You are one of the kindest people I know!
