This is well thought out, I must say....
A wise man once told me;
when you see that other people don't care about you, then don't let that attitude control who you are! Keep on doing what you do best.
That wise man also said to me that the past is like mud, if you remain in it and decide to go back to it, thou will stumble and slip.
