Greed can cause suffering

I read the story of a young graduate who had a very good job but wanted to be counted amongst the prosperous young man. One day, he ran into a group of con men. They told him they are investors with their flashing car and British accent. He followed the fraudster in pursit of elusive wealth and by the time they finished with him, he has borrowed millions from different people. When eventually he realized what was happening, he was already in a serious problem, unsuccessful explaining what he really could not understand, recounting stories that he could never have imagined, oftentimes he would ask "did this really happen to me, was I on drugs, duped or mesmerized?"

His greed led him astray. He lost his job, his wife left him, his landlord drove him away, his family disowned him, he was sued by more than 10 people for duping, accused of being a fraudster and a swindler. Life became very miserable, he was broken, battered, forsaken, abandoned and lonely, he became an outlaw to his in-laws and finally committed suicide. Be careful, greed can destroy and cause you intense suffering.
