COVID-19: A Quick Recap and its FUTURE
A Quick Recap
Corona virus disease is an infectious disease that can be transmitted through contact, coughing, talking and sneezing. Over 7 million people have tested positive for covid-19 with over 408000 deaths globally since it started. Its symptoms are cough, fever, fatigue, shortness of breath and loss of smell but sometimes patients do not show symptoms at all.
Future of COVID-19
The future concerning COVID-19 looks good since there has been an increase in the number of people that have recovered from the virus globally.
Some drugs like anti-malaria drugs chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine and anti-viral remdesivir has been approved for emergency use.
There is also a promising unique way for finding a vaccine for covid-19. This involves the use of the mRNA technology which can be used to manufacture vaccines with high precision, speed and ability of the vaccine to adapt to changes in the virus or new forms of the virus. One of the companies using this technology is Moderna and they have created a potential vaccine for corona virus which has started clinical trials.
Fact is humans will overcome covid-19 but might take a little longer then expected and definitely a vaccine will be manufactured
So far, the virus has been another turning point in human history as this has opened our virologists and doctors to new forms of treatment and ways on curing diseases. Also, we have seen the huge role doctors, nurses and medical workers play in our lives, may God bless them.
