The Men in Green beat The Men In Black after only 111 years of trying
You have to hand it to the Irish, they never quit, never threw in the towel. Whenever they played the All Blacks they played to win.
I’m only sorry about two things:
1 – I missed the game live
2 – this didn’t happen in New Zealand
If the Irish had won here, you would have seen how a rugby mad nation treats giant killers. The Ireland fans would have celebrated into the night, and the kiwis would have happily bought them beers.
Good on you Ireland!
The All Blacks are still our team, and they are still the most successful sporting team in the entire world. You can’t take that away from them. And that just makes the achievement of the Irish team that much greater.
To the Irish team, well done. To their fans, good on you for sticking with your team for 111 years. I’ll look forward to the next time you play us in Wellington, knowing that anything is possible.
