You ever think about throwing an LED in there?
I know cali lightworks has a cool lil deal, where you do a journal and they sell you a like 800-1200w light for like a quarter of the price, and at the end of the 3 months or so you can rerurn it if you are not happy.
Just a tip from one green thumb to another.
My led i used when i grew indoors was only 100w and would yield around 2 oz or so. And that was without hps or anything, just led with one plant.
And the niggies were alwayse really dense. I liked it.
