RE: CAN ONE MISTAKE OVERSHADOW ALL THE PREVIOUS GOOD DEEDS?

in #life7 years ago

My husband's job requires him to spend a great deal of time in people's homes, installing and/or repairing cable related stuff. It's disheartening sometimes how quick people are to call the office to complain about a mistake he made, versus how many times they call to compliment him for a job well done (when his work speaks for itself as to how excellent a tech he is).

It's given us both a new perspective over the years, so now we try to make a point of calling companies to tell them when their employees have done excellent work for us. Again, slightly disheartening how often the people we talk to are surprised we called.

For example, a month or so ago, we had an oil delivery. We'd had our son shovel a path through the snow the day before, so Mr. DG (Delivery Guy - LOL) could make it across the yard without a sled dog. When Mr DG arrived, I think he thanked us about a million times for that simple thing. When I called the office to tell them he was an awesome dude, the receptionist said, "Oh wow - I don't think we've ever had someone call that wasn't complaining about something!"

I leave you with an excuse for me to stare at Patrick Dempsey's gorgeousness this gif I found. 😊
