The friend zone is a comfortable zone. It is the zone that implies friendliness without intention to complicate issues by moving into a relationship or something more.

It then puzzles me when people refute the friend zone and vehemently oppose the idea that they may be in someone's friend zone.

It only goes to validate the fact that people like complications and unconsciously tend to reject comfort.

---

Really, let's think about it. What is so wrong with being nothing more than a friend to a friend of the opposite sex? Well, I see nothing wrong at all.

Although, it may hurt (rather it will hurt) to have someone who you have feelings for or who you have a crush on, put you in the friend zone.

---

It however, is way better than being put in the enemy zone or the discard zone or the stranger zone.

---

I really don't exactly understand why we focus more on the negative aspect of a thing than choose to see the positive aspect.

Truth be told, we have all friend zoned someone who liked us or harboured a crush on us, consciously or otherwise.
So why should we get mad when the same is done to us?

The reaction of anger to a friend zone when we have in fact friendzoned someone too is only an act of hypocrisy.

---

Realistically speaking, as much as every boy or every girl is nice and lovable and caring, it is not every boy or girl that harbours feelings for you that you will reciprocate in the same measure however hard you try.

Some people are just meant to be friends to us. The friend zone is where they belong and they'd fit very nicely there. Don't force a relationship where a friendship should exist.

Although they say date your friend. I'd simply advice: "Don't date just any friend". Not all friends are to be dated.

The friend zone is simply a phase of life. If you find yourself in that phase, enjoy it. It will pass and will become a story to be retold one day to others. It will make a beautiful story when you enjoy the phase. But where you choose to be bitter and wallow in self pity and anger, it would just be a pitiable shameful story.
