BREAK UP 3-- The Spell and Freedom.

It was a quarrel, like a little fire beside a cylinder. It exploded and brought in all the debris she had been enduring for long. She had been taking his shit too long.

He flirts around and she loves still

He is stingy and she gives still

He is away for others but rarely with her.

He ignores her calls but after a little fuss, she dots over him again.

She tells herself, " there are not many men who will stay around. At least, this one didn't break up with me like others".

She pets him like a king and gets a slave's praise.

He is the apple of her eyes but she is treated worse than orange pills.

It's been one year and a half now. She is exhausted from giving so much of herself and nothing in return.

He acts like the pampered brat that he is. He refuses to apologize after he's 'caught with a lady friend'. She goes beserk! Somehow, she wears a courage he had never seen and blows her venom off in his face!

He threatens to leave the relationship. That's the way to hurt her, he thinks. This time, she doesn't mind. She tells him to go to hell! Not with the raging emotion he'd expected. She strikes him with her stoic composure. She means it, this time.

He dares further. He actually leaves.

She is done too. Exhausted from hanging on to an hopeless love.

But like most people. She begins to iterate what she had missed out on because of this poisonous love that crippled her.

Oh, her spirituality! She had not really been a good Christian in this relationship. Just been there,you know...

Oh, her career! This guy gave her the hope of a serious man but she lost time because he didnt take her dreams seriously.

So she makes the easiest decision ever:

NO MORE LOVE!

MORE CHURCH MEETINGS!

CAREER IS MY ALL, NOW!

Again, NO MORE LOVE!

She transfers her obsession to anything but love and hopes to be on that track for as long as she finds "peace".

"Guys suck". She consoles herself...as she wears her high heels to another prayer meeting.

This guy that broke up with her has left her with something to spend the rest of her life doing--an obsession with piety and ambition. But in so doing, he also sentenced her to a life that loathes erotic love from guys willing to give her committedly.

She is under the spell of his bad behavior--a fate that she plunged into even after he was done with her. He is away living his life to the fullest. Maybe a changed man now. She is with hers, living it obligatorily without love, because of something he did years ago.

Break free from that spell! He is gone! Don't make the rest of your life take a shape it wasn't designed for because of him. Else, you give him more power over the rest of your life in his absence than you did for 1½ years in his presence.

You will find love again! It will be rewarding; very rewarding! But if you give up on love because a few guys suck, you are still under their spell.

There is no better peace than defying the expectation of the ones who troubled your ability to love again.
