In the last months, I've been studying about consciousness and its effects on our world.
I'm really intrigued on how we know so little about this subject and how it affects our reality. People are having amazing experiences when they explore this universe as they get conscious of themselves.

Have you ever been doing something and suddenly you ask yourself why I'm doing this? That's when we are unconscious of ourselves and our body becomes our mind. We have been programmed in such a way that our actions doesn't need to go through our conscious process that occurs on our frontal lobe. Your subconscious mind is running the show all the time without your awareness.

By saying this, I don't mean that our subconscious is a bad thing. Without it, you couldn't do a lot of your daily tasks like walking, driving, working, etc. My point is you are being led by your unconscious habits most of the time without you even noticing it. These habits were installed by years of conditioning through the experiences that your environment made you feel.

It's when you start to observe these feelings without judging them that you begin to have a more clearer vision of yourself. This attitude is called being present. When you are present, your attention is focused only in the now, not in the past events or in a possible future. It is the moment where you feel closer to what people tend to call of higher consciousness, greater mind, universal intelligence, quantum field, infinite love, god, etc and your problems seems to disappear.

People usually practice meditation in order to unlearn their memorized emotions which makes them feel bad like fear, anxiety and sadness and to learn new ones like joy, confidence and compassion or some kind of activity that makes them stay truly present like skydiving, for example. I even heard of people healing themselves of various kind of physical and mental diseases simply by accessing this state of mind . This is what medicine calls spontaneous remissions.

So, you can have a greater understanding of yourself and the world around you by being conscious of what you are doing in the present moment. This approach can answer many questions you have about why things are the way they are in your life such as who am I? Why am I doing this? and so on.

This subject is vast and I'm just scratching the surface with this post, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.
