how he survived, where he went and the people he met, and how he maneuvered his life during these times. how he survived storms and ended up on a nude beach in colombia
i first met rick about 15 years ago,
when we first met he had just gotten out of prison,
he was travelling across country and we met at the VFW
he needed money for travelling, and i gave him a hundred bucks to continue his journey, it was later he re-appeared in quartzsite only for him to move to quartzsite for a short time to re-establish a work cycle for himself after being released from prison. i was his only contact, and for some reason he trusted me. we did many projects in quartzsite and beyond in and around the area. he and alecia had separated out and that was when he went back to iraq under a private contractor status, his felonies expunged
here in the following episodes, rick and i discuss his episodes after getting out of vietnam, and the times he spent throughout his life, his accomplishments and his failures, his lessons hard learned and easily remembered. his story is long and the journey complex, from orphan to vet to drug runner to felon, back to war, from being so rich to being the most poor, rags to riches and back again.
his stories are movie worthy and worth capturing as i am the only one he trusts with the stories

rick is an airplane pilot who smuggled drugs from colombia and peru, both via plane and ships, he has been indicted on 28 felony counts and only 2 of them stuck because he had john gottis lawyer.
