Philips claim that the SmartSleep is the only wearable technology clinically proven to improve sleep. Based on 10 years of sleep data, the headband (or helmet?) is aimed at insomniacs and promises to improve sleep quality.

The SmartSleep is basically a sleep tracker and white noise machine in one. It uses small sensors to detect when you are experiencing deep sleep and produces 'customized audio tones' to improve the depth and duration of this stage. And of course, there is an app to go with it.

70% of the people who have tried it have reported feeling less tired during the day. But the rest of us will have to wait as it will be released in the American Spring. It's speculated to cost around US$400.
