I'm grateful for my voice and I wish it was louder, figuratively speaking. I've been having a little bit of a debate with family and friends on the FB over the whole Nike stunt. I am not interested in continuing it here necessarily (please no! 🤪) but I honestly think it's a bit genius. Whether you are for or against the company and their choice of spokesperson, Nike has done their research and reignited the conversation with grand impact.
Colin Kaepernick has become the voice of a movement, joining the likes of Martin Luther King Jr, Susan B Anthony, Rosa Parks, Harvey Milk, and a host of others that escape my brain at the moment. Instead of barking back, I think it's time to ask ourselves what we can do to help since we know from history how the other movements worked out. Whether you agree or disagree with the delivery system is not important any longer because if you don't get on board or get out of the way, the movement is going to run you over. Don't let the whiteness of your skin leave you colorblind to humanity and empathy.

Nike is definitely using the uproar to their advantage. I enjoyed an op-ed in WaPo, I believe, that said it was a calculated risk they were willing to take. They basically are using social media as an advertisement. We're all being played and people are letting their emotions overrule common sense. It's a page from the political handbook
Sad but true.... But a good time to buy Nike stock if you're into that sort of thing!

Are you living under a rock? LoL. Just kidding. They made the football player that was kneeling during the national anthem the face of their new ad campaign and everyone is in an uproar
oh! yes I have been living under a rock in regards to the news sorry! lol. I haven't watched much news since I got onto steemit, usually the people here break big stories but I haven't seen that one.
so Nike's stock is crashing because of that move? that's a gutsy move on their part.
I don't know that their stock is falling hard since it was a calculated risk they took on and are getting a lot of free publicity. They are playing the social media system in grand style and it won't hurt them in the long run. People are actually burning their Nike apparel which is hilarious since the company already has their money. Turns out Nike also owns Converse which many don't know and may buy instead. LoL
