Living a self-sufficient existence

in #life7 years ago

Hello folks,

I have been dealing with the topic of a self-sufficient existence for some time now. I also have lived with an the existing community for some time. The thought itself is nothing new. Already in the 70s there were the so-called hippie communities. Some have, most of them have not survived . At the time, this was also done for similar reasons as nowadays. However, the situation was not as serious as it is today. The threat at that time was the fear of atomic annihilation. Even then people wanted to break out of the existing system. They were idealists as they have seldom been before. Unfortunately, the political orientation was naturally more left - a left of the 70s - not like today ....

To make a long story short I'm not a hippie but I'm not a friend of the system either. What unites me with the ideology of the time, however, is the closeness to nature and spirituality. A return to a kind of naturalness. A naturalness based on a true, genuine humanism. Not the one of the Free Masons and the so-called Enlightenment. On the other hand, of course, I also live in the 21st century and appreciate some modern aspects of life. I do not wear long hair and do not have a beard but rather see myself as a person with a style of "savoir vivre". I drive motorcycles, travel a lot and am very interested in other cultures but above all in my culture and its origins. This too is a reason to break away from the system where one's own perishes in a construct of "multikulturalism". At the latest I am no longer with the people who think that it is possible to unite all kinds cultures in one pot / village / state together peacefully. It requires a high degree of self-reflection and personal freedom from the system of growing up in order to meet people of different cultural backgrounds, to open up to them or to tolerate them permanently. So I do not beleeve in the "beep piep beep we all love each other" philosophy.

I stand in the second half of my life and do not fool myself any more. I have dealt intensively with the psyche and the nature of man. My conclusion with regard to community life, first and foremost is, that people who have not learned to live in a collective throughout their lives, eg. in a large family, even if they do not want to live in a self-created collective , they can´t do that right away. That usually goes pretty fast down the drain. Therefore, I personally see a solution to that problem in cooperating with others in a loose association of individual and independent households on a common basis. This can z.b. be a village community or a combination of nearby houses, farmhouses or apartments. Mutual support can be organized to share the basic areas of life and their costs.

As I said before, I do not believe in socialist utopias or the construct of collectivism but rather in traditional structures that have proven themselves over hundreds, if not thousands, of years. It may be rather irritating for some but I claim in my existence to combine traditional values with quasi (nowadays) revolutionary ideas - Say I'm not stuck in any drawer. I also find such people who do combine tradition and modernity very interesting. If you feel addressed here, please contact me. I can imagine living in the eastern part of Germany or in one of the eastern neighboring states. In my estimation, the political situation here in Germany will not change for the better in the foreseeable future - rather the opposite. At least I have no time to wait for it. I'm at an age where you can not postpone the future if you're smart. I look forward to answers and suggestions from like-minded people.

Greetings Harry
