Did you know? - Animals consume drugs consciously and repeatedly!

We all know that people are using drugs consciously, but did you know that animals are doing the same?

 Yes, animals consciously consume drugs

Although it is difficult to know why animals eat hallucinogenic plants, numerous cases suggest that psychoactive effect is the main reason that urges them to do so.

Sometimes, they consume trace amounts of these plants whose nutritional value is very small, but being attracted by psychoactive effect, particularly large. Animals should therefore be aware of the effect of these plants.

In Gabon, for example, elephants, monkeys, birds and many other animals ingest deliberately iboga, a hallucinogenic plant. Young elephants learn to eat this plant from older elephants in the group.

Tabernanthe iboga or simply iboga is a perennial rainforest shrub and psychedelic, native to western Central Africa. Iboga stimulates the central nervous system when taken in small doses and induces visions in larger doses. -Source credit

Iboga is also used in certain regions of Africa sorcerers and healers during traditional rituals.

In Canada, the reindeer consumes a red mushroom hallucinogen that causes spasms and in Africa, Amarula fruit and bay leaves, fallen to the ground, ferment and produce alcohol and monkeys and elephants are getting drunk.

Did you know that dolphins use drugs?

Dolphins, considered to be one of the most intelligent animal species use drugs. They use a type of fish balloon to inhale a substance and get high.

When challenged, balloon fish exudes a kind of neurotoxin, which, if inhaled in small doses, can have narcotic or hallucinogen in marine mammal body.

That neurotoxin is fatal if inhaled in large quantities, but dolphins have the ability to cause fish enough to eliminate low doses of this substance, so as not to put their lives in danger.

Conclusion

No matter how hard some people are trying to stop others from using drugs, they will never succeed because it's in our nature to use drugs. If animals are doing it consciously and repeatedly, why people should stop?

I'm not trying to encourage people to use drugs or to discourage them not to do so, I want to tell them that if they keep using drugs, at least to use those drugs wisely like the most intelligent animal (the dolphin).

I believe that all those plants are here on this planet to help us to become better! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

Some people who forbid us to use certain plants, they know it's in our benefit and therefore prevent us from using them. They made other types of drugs (medicines) which they sell to enrich even if those drugs do more harm than good.
