GOOD IS THE ENEMY OF GREAT

I want to share a very powerful realization that I have had. It is that good is the enemy of great.

We may ask ourselves, How can this be?
Isn't good a stop on the road to greatness?

The answer is, maybe sometimes, but not always. The reason is that often times when our life is full of good, there is not any room for greatness to enter.

If you are in a relationship that is good, where is the room for something great to come into your life?

This conversation is not about being a perfectionist. No. This conversation is about recognizing where we have become complacent with things that are nice, good, or comfortable.

It is to acknowledge that this experience can sedate us. We are not uncomfortable to be forced into change.

The other issue is that without recognizing this we can lack the inspiration to let go of our present situation that is "good" to make space for what is great.
