Wow - amazing analysis of the Roman Empire and the connection between it's use of silver and it's obvious successes... They definitely don't teach this in public school. :-P
I find it disturbing that, despite being used since ancient times, the use of silver and it's medicinal value has been completely ignored by mainstream medicine alongside public education...

It has been a major thorn in the side of most generals throughout these campaigns to manage supply chain logistics uninterrupted, let alone with regards to means of preservation and waste mitigation.
