Truth be told, Not everyone of us will be employers of labour. There are some of us who would be employed by the employers of labour. That is why I am taking today to explain what a c.v should look like.

What is a c.v?

Your c.v is the summary of who you are on a sheet of people. A c.v is simply marketing yourself .Yes! It is as simple as that. There is no one size fits All. Your c.v should be different from your best friend c.v. your c.v is your personal marketing package. C.v is a list of your achievement, work , experience, qualification and progress in life. Your employer want to see your skills, your relevant experience, qualification, education,additional information like certification courses taken and volunteers activities done

Tips for organising your c.v

Like I said earlier, there is no one size fits all

The first thing you need to do is to position the most relevant, impressive content on the top of the page
Incorporate key words from the job advert
Look through what you can do and the work you have done
Talk results not duties
Use action verb+project+result e.g led, established, created, oversaw, spearheaded, initiated, implemented etc
Note: your c.v will not get you a job..it will only get you an interview..the way you present yourself in the interview is what gets you the job

Ask yourself questions like;

What is the purpose of this c.v?

Who will be reviewing this c.v?

What content should you include on your c.v?

Name,phone numbers, email address, digital contact information.
