Ratings.

The media cares about ratings above anything else.

Look at the election results from Florida as I begin typing this post:

Florida Contested

99% of the votes are counted with Trump winning and the state is not called yet. Meanwhile, in Texas only 35% of the vote is in, yet it's called for Trump.

The truth is the mainstream media doesn't really care about candidates, they care about ad revenue. Ad revenue is driven by ratings, which is driven by controversy. Thus, Florida is "in question" even though very nearly the entire vote is reported... but Texas, which everyone expects to vote Republican, is called because there's no chance of controversy there.

CBS Chariman Les Moonves has even claimed Trump is good for ratings, even if he's not good for America as an explanation for why Trump received so much free airtime during the Primaries.

Everyone wants to believe the media is biased against their candidate, but the reality is the media is biased towards profit above anything.

This is something that a lot of people don't seem to get.

Texas could be called for Trump in 1985. It is Texas
