Very good post! This is something that a LOT of people should remember, perhaps even the vast majority of people. I feel everyone is complaining about how the world is getting worse and worse without actually looking at the trends and the numbers. It's also very true that we have cognitive bias to remember the bad things instead of the good. Perhaps for purely evolutionary reasons.
