Things You May Not Know About WalMart

in #life7 years ago

Did you know........

Americans alone spend $36.000.000 at WalMart every hour 365 days a year except for a few holidays
that stores are closed.

WalMart is the world’s largest employer with 1.6 million employees and most of them speak English.

With WalMart being the largest company in the world it sells more from January 1 to St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) than Target sells all year long and is larger than Kroger, K-Mart, Sears, Home Depot, Costco and Target combined.

After 15 yrs. of selling food, WalMart sells more food than Safeway and Kroger combined and now sells more food than any other store world wide.

WalMart sells 1 billion pounds of bananas a year.

There will be approximately 7.2 different purchasing experiences this year from the earth’s population totaling approximately 6.5 billion.

If Walmart were rated as a country it would come in as the 26th largest economy in the world.

The Walton family still owns approximately 50% of the stock.

Maybe with all this data the powers that be should consider employing some of these people that run WalMart to help them fix the world economy…..just saying!

For all the negative things you hear about Walmart... they are doing something right! I admit I am there every few days picking up something.

Yes, I know, the price is right!

Wow, I knew that the Walmart was big, but didn't realize it was THAT BIG!

Thank you for an interesting and enlightening post! :D

I know a lot of people in years past didn't like Walmart comming to their cities and felt it ruined local economies but honestly I feel Amazon is a much more destructive force than Walmart.

It will be interesting to see if they will be broken up like AT&T was back in the 80s. Thanks for commenting.

Personally I see Amazon as more of a danger of having too much control over markets more so than Walmart. I know they only own a small percentage of the grocery industry but just seems like they are getting a bit too big. With the changes to their unlimited hosting lately they offer incredibly cheap hosting, get everyone to move over there, drive other hosting businesses out of business and then raise their prices. Sorta like they did to bookstores.

Great and informative post!
I liked the WalMart during my USA-Trip in march this year for most of their stores had a free rv park, which was in some cases a good opportunity when the next open campsite was far.

Yes, they have most everything you might need.....except surgery! Haha

Wow! Loaded with facts.

Walmart is an empire, thank you for reporting on it!

Yes, it is. Thanks for commenting. Now following you.
