Happy Chinese New Year
In Thailand, we normally celebrate Chinese New Year by “lion dance show”. (I don’t know exact word for this kind of show with lion.) According to Chinese belief, lion is the symbol of prosperity, bringing them good fortune and protecting them from any danger. Besides, lion is also a symbol of power, courage and loyalty.
For your further information, the lion dances with the rhythm of the cymbals, drums, etc. It is very fun and exciting show. When I was a child, I saw this show every Chinese New Year and I love it very much. I think this lion dance show is a valuable art. It's unfortunate that I do not have any video of this show for you.
In the meantime, I would like to present you some photos of lions that are used for the show. This exhibition is held at CentralPlaza Chaengwattana, which is nearby my house. They celebrate Chinese New Year with various kinds of lions with bright colors. The lions look very powerful and really wonderful.
Some lions show their wonderful white teeth......
Some lions have beautiful white, black, yellow, blue, beard.....
Some lions have their red tongue out...... :p
I like this one most; really pretty little yellow lion!
Ha ha! Do you see me in the below photo? Where? I just noticed while I uploaded it on Steemit. ;D
Happy Chinese New Year, my friends! ;)

Thanks so much for your nice comment and visiting my blog. I’m very glad to know that you enjoyed my lion photos! ;)
Kiong Hee Huat Tsai, my dear @tangmo! Filipino culture have been much influenced by Chinese beliefs and tradition aw they are one of the earliest traders in our country. We have a little "China Town" in Manila where they do these Lion Dance. I had so much fun watching it and I'm glad you also experience it in your country. This photo is from my sister. She went to "China Town" in 2012 to celebrate Chinese New Year there.
Thanks so much for your nice comment and sharing your sister's photo of beautiful lion. Yeah! We are similar; there is a "China Town" in Bangkok, too! There are many Chinese-Thai in Thailand, so we have been influenced by Chinese beliefs and tradition as well. I absolutely agree with you, it's much fun watching them. ;)
Happy Chinese New Year, @tangmo Those are some funky looking lions! :)
Haha can't really see you in the reflection without those image enhancing software like they have on CSI.
