A Perfect Guide to Patience

in #life5 years ago

Patience is a virtue. Unfortunately, it is also one of those virtues that can be easily abused if we allow our patience to become worn down by persistent frustration. The best way to avoid this is to remember that patience is one of the wisest things a person can have. It serves as a stepping stone to other important virtues such as commitment and determination. This article briefly discusses how patience can benefit us.

Patience is often called the virtue of Heaven. However, one must remember that heaven is not a state of patience but of peace and security. One must cultivate patience by placing God first in one's priorities. The first step of this spiritual path is through forgiveness. Forgiveness is perhaps the hardest virtue to cultivate because it involves taking the sin of another person. This is why patience is considered to be a difficult virtue in the sense that one must be prepared for all possibilities while trying to be patient with others.

Patience is not merely a virtue for the well-being of the individual but a major key to achieving personal development in terms of mental, emotional, and physical health. According to numerous scientific research, patience has been scientifically proven to promote healing and recovery. This fact makes patience the most people magnet since physical health is closely linked to spiritual health.

A major benefit of patience is found in its ability to reduce stress and anxiety. People suffering from stress and anxiety have shown to suffer more health problems than healthy individuals. Research has shown that patience promotes self-control and helps in managing anger and other negative emotions. It is therefore a very useful virtue to possess especially among workers. According to the dictionary, patience is a form of self-control used to achieve the best results in a given time. In many cases, workers are required to apply great patience and self-control to gain maximum benefits from their work.

Another benefit of being patient is that it can help one deal with another problem that comes in one's way. A patient is able to concentrate and think clearly when confronted with another health problem. It is proven that one of the benefits of being patient is coping with situations rather than avoiding them.

Some people lack patience because they do not know the value of patience. They feel that patience is a virtue that needs to be acquired by forcefully pushing it on others. But the reality of patience is that one can be patient without having to force others to become patient with you. However, people who lack patience will not hesitate to lose patience which can lead them to making foolish mistakes. One of the biggest mistake that people make when facing a health problem is to lose patience and not take any action. One of the biggest advantages of being patient is that you do not have to make any foolish mistakes; you will only benefit from your patience.

The Bhagvatam is one of the verses in the Holy Bible which defines patience as a virtue and describes how patience is a gift from the almighty. The almighty created us in His own image and likeness; He also has the power to be patient and to have patience. Therefore, one must have patience to be able to gain all the benefits of being patient. This is because: "All men are mortal, and God makes no distinction between the wise and the foolish, whether he be a man or woman."

In the book of Song of Solomon, it is mentioned that patience is a virtue that can be learned; it is described as the virtue that one must possess if he wants to achieve something. If patience does not come naturally to an individual then he should practice meditation so that he will be able to control his patience and prevent himself from getting angry. Anger causes us to lose our cool and causes us to do many negative things; therefore, we should avoid anger at all times and instead use patience whenever possible. We can develop this skill by listening to patience motivational tapes and reading books on patience.
