People Watching...... On my way the Northern California Coast

I have to travel for work, I have to say it sucks, but I am not going to dwell on that here. You can see one of my previous posts for that rant. Right now I am waiting out a delay at O’Hare Airport and will probably miss my connecting flight in San Francisco.

O’Hare Airport is a huge airport, not sure how many people come through her per day, but is a lot. I kind of a people watcher. I would have to say most nationalities are represented here, and most life styles. Not sure how the lady with the nose ring with a chain attached to her wrist band got through security, but if there is a will there is a way I guess.
What fascinates me, with the fiasco that is the airline industry people are very calm, most are in there own little worlds, eye contact is a no, no….

Everyone here has a story just like me, but somehow they seem oblivious as they walk to the next gate to catch their connecting flight to find out the plane has already left of the next flight is delayed or even canceled. It is almost like they are used to being disappointed…..

The mob moves though the concourse like cattle being herded into the next paddock, the flow of bodies is like an insect colony moving through the landscape, no one quite sure where they are going just going. Then there is always the guy who stops in the middle of the flow and just derails the whole flow, folks scattering left and right and then when it can’t get any worse, the guy starts walking up stream further causing havoc again. But within a second or two the flow is returned and all is right in the world.

I am definitely looking forward to getting my work done and getting back to the homestead, there are not so many people there!
