Check out Beriswill's Farm Market
Our good friends and family in Valley City, OH
My first wife Lin came from a farming family from a little town in Ohio, called Valley City. If you are not from the area you may recognize the name from the famous frog jumping contest they have every year. My first wife lost a battle with pancreatic cancer some 16 years ago but we have stayed fairly close with the family, they are great people with exceptional character and commitment to the family farm and farm life in general.
About 10 years ago they started a farmer's market that called Beriswill's Farm Market. I believe it is open year round selling items grown and raised on the farm along with many other items featuring other Ohio farms and craftsmen.
Colleen and I visited for a family reunion last year about this time and wow, have things changed and changed for the good! Fall is a big deal at Beriswill Farms, you just must stop by and go through the corn maze, they put a lot of work into it, it always has a theme and is a learning experience for all ages. The theme last year was National Parks, know I have been to a lot of national parks back in the days when we had a motor-home. But I learned a lot from the displays they had up, pretty cool stuff.
I believe this year’s theme is Believeland, a sports theme. The maze looks pretty cool this year you can get more information from their web site, her is the link: www.beriswillfarms.com.
They posted pictures of the mums they have and they look great, ready to bloom full of color!
There is lots to do with kids, hay rides, petting zoo, and tons of stuff to climb on! I think they have food on weekends and special event days.It is shear enjoyment for the whole family, take pictures while you are there and share with all your friends, but encourage them to check it out for themselves because there is nothing like seeing things for yourself!
Be sure to check out the country market, the OHIO Maple syrup is delicious and the beef sticks and steaks are great too, so take a cooler and fill it up! Remember the pictures above show great things to decorate for Fall with,
"We have pumpkins, gourdsa, cornstalks, straw, and mums!" Carol Beriswill
