What will be the woman of the future

Over the past year, stories about women as victims of violence have replaced the stories of leadership. A new definition of a woman should include the whole variety of her possible hypostases

"It seemed that the events of January 20, 2017 were predetermined: public opinion polls and the course of history led to the fact that the woman ought to take the oath of the president.

But the script was different. We got a story in which women were objects, not subjects. Young and desired bodies that they want to possess, the flesh that modern Caligula will spoil. I can never forget the image of the producer Brett Ratner, in one hand which is his own penis, and in the other - shrimp. This story is a little lost among the numerous stories about the hotel rooms of his colleague Harvey Weinstein.

Women were once again locked in the same role. As the Nigerian writer Simamanda Ngozi Adici said, the problem of stereotypes is not that they are wrong, but that they are incomplete. This year we exchanged one incomplete story - a story of incredible power, on the other - a story of incredible victimization. Our conversations were filled with stories of violence and harassment that sank some of the most influential men who shaped our culture.
