Nova's World #1: Gold Coast Beach Day! Tallebudgera Dog Beach Adventures

in #life6 years ago

Welcome to the first flagship post about Nova's World. An insight into all her adventures, daily antics and mischief.

A little introduction into this precious furball:

  • Name: Nova a.k.a Cute Girl a.k.a Blackie a.k.a Baby Girl
  • Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross
  • Age: 2.5 Years as of January 2018
  • Loves: People, Food, Running, Soft Toys
  • Hates: Water, Vacuums, Sudden Movements
  • Secret Power: Stinky Farts, Staffy Zoomies & Cute Puppy Dog Eyes
  • Follow her on Instagram

Now onto our Beach Day Adventure to Tallebudgera Dog Beach on the Gold Coast!

You may have noticed that Nova hates water. Yet she loves to run and run and run! So we ran back and forth along the beach as the water lapped up to her legs. She's only willing to run through the shallow water and small waves that go half way up her legs. Anything deeper and she's out of there in a split second.

Our usual dog beach is The Spit located in Southport, Gold Coast but today we opted to try out a new beach that is much quieter and peaceful albeit further away. It was definitely worth the drive as it was much less crowded and more relaxing, while still having the benefits of the pristine sand and water that the Gold Coast is famous for.

There is an off-leash section located just north of the Surf Life Savers Club where dogs are free to run across the sand, through the water and dig around until the sun goes down. The other parts of the beach are still dog-friendly, however you need to keep out of the flagged swimming areas designated specifically for people.

There are plenty of local food & drink outlets nearby with smoothies from the fruit shop and fish & chips being the stand-out options. We packed our own picnic and set-up for the day with our esky and giant beach umbrella.

After hours of running around and splashing through the (shallow) waves Nova was finally exhausted and ready to go home (as you can see from her expression in the picture above). Tallebudgera Dog Beach is definitely on the top of our list as a Gold Coast dog adventure destination. We will definitely be back in the future!

Thanks for reading! I will post a video of her splashing through the waves after I edit the footage so keep an eye out! If you happen to know other awesome dog beaches please let me know!
