We are renovating an abandoned Crackhouse | Photostory

in #life8 years ago

Growing up in a small town like mine, you do not have an awful lot to do but to wander around the woods sometimes.

For years we came across an old house, that looked rather wrecked down.
The windows are partly smashed in but the doors were always locked. So that other day we decided to climb through the window and see what is going on in there.

Oh boy, there was a whole lot going on in there.

Unfortunately the idea to bring this onto steemit came a little late and i can not present you any pictures of all the drug utensils, syringes and pipes. We threw them away carefully and went ahead with organizing wallpapers, furniture, paint and so on.

So lets start out with the first set of pictures, if there is some interest here i will continue to post the progress :)

This is how it looks when you enter the front door. We smashed in the lock, so that we do not have to climb through the window anymore.

Thats me, just to ensure i did not steal that pictures from anywhere. Notice the drawing we overpainted a bit already at the top right corner. It seems like some kids already had some fun with this house.

This is the room that is still most intact. I have no idea how you can put a floor in a room like this. There are no pieces broken out, it really seems it was initially laid down there like this. Also the placement of the wardrobe seems kind of weird, you can barely enter the room because the monster is blocking the room. We had to remove the door to properly get in there.

This room is just stuffed with old furniture, but it smells like somebody rotted in there. We still have no clue why it s all stuffed with that old crap, but most likely this was used as a storage room. Take note of the two plastic flowers in the background. Looks like somebody really put some effort to brighten up the room a bit !

Here is our wellness spa ! I think there is not a whole lot of work required here. Some candles should do and we  already brought some shampoo. This comes in handy, if you feel tired after a long day of work and just can kick back a bit in the jacuzzi. The water supply is still in place. But yeah, it is not really clean. To be honest, it is pretty brown. And nasty. And eewwwwh, i would not brush my teeth with that if it was the last drop of water on the planet.

We already pointed this room out as our favorite. Amongst all the messed up rooms, this one is is special.
It has no floor and lots of rubbish in it.  But apparently the former owner liked to play basketball, so much that he even got 2 balls.

This picture is a little saddening. Those boxes contain mostly diapers and baby clothing. One shudders when thinking about a kid growing up in such a home. I really hope all the syringes and drug utensils came, when the owners long left. I want to believe the diapers are just remainings of the original inhabitants and not from drug addicted parents. Fingers crossed.

Soo heres a photo of a drugged up dude in his natural environment.
Just kidding, that is a friend of mine, but he fits the scenario pretty well ;) As you can tell he is a #pokemon fan and we had to let him draw that thing in the kitchen. I hope he fails to convince us to let him draw any more of it.

But we already made some progress. One of my buddy is an artists and draws some pretty awesome stuff, so we moved in some old furniture and fruit boxes there we bought for cheap. It really suits the room and style pretty well.

So far it has really been great fun to renovate this room and we are meeting up tomorrow to continue with the next room.

I hope you guys enjoyed that little insight. If the interest persists i would love to share our progress with the steemians !
