Selectins

Hello everyone,i would like to tell about selectins which plays major role in acute inflammation.

Three types of selectins- E-selectin,P-selectin,L-selectin.the CD maker for selectin is CD62.
E,P,L selectins are present on endothelium,endothelium&platelets,leucocytes respectively.

The function of selectins is rolling.

The complemenatry receptors for E,P selectins are Sialyl Lewis x modified glycoprotein present on leucocytes.
For L selectin the complementary receptor is GLYCAM1/CD34 present on endothelium.
