Poverty

Most people might define poverty as not been wealthy of not having money to provide for your needs. Some intellectual people might say it is living below standard. According to the dictionary, poverty is any deficiency of elements or resources that are needed or desired, or that constitute richness.

It is known that almost all the countries in the world suffers from poverty. This is because a country must lack in one resources or another. This have been a major problem since the beginning of the world especially in some underdeveloped countries. Sometimes poverty is blamed on the people of the country for their inability to work and earn a living for themselves. Some blame poverty on bad governance and corrupt leaders.

Governance in a country means a specific system by which a political system is ruled. And if there is poor political system of a country, it will surely affect the economic situation of the country leading to low standard of living. The bad governance and corrupt leaders in a country are responsible for unsustainable resources in the country. Man has become so greedy and selfish to the point were they would want to attain respect and power by all means and as we all know with money one can achieve almost anything he/she wants to. So our corrupt leaders who are hungry for power keeps all the money to themselves and their families leaving the average masses to fend for themselves which might lead to series of crime, increasing the crime rate of the country.

Corruption often leads to poverty and vise versa, corruption is the act of changing, or of being changed, for worse, departure from what is pure, simple or correct.

A country is not poor due to its shortage of resources. A country is poor when it is unable to provide a good standard of living to the population within it. When population is higher than the available resources it leads to poverty.

It is believed that the world is created with balance, the good and bad, the male and female e.t.c . The same thing goes for the rich and poor. The truth is that the poor people make the rich, because if everybody becomes very wealthy today not only with money but knowledge and every other thing he/she desires nobody would be ready to work for another. Therefore the presence of poverty creates a balance in the world today. This is because the poor would be ready to work with or for the rich because they want to get rich too. But in the world where we are today even the rich wants to get richer. Been rich is having things to your satisfaction. But man can never be satisfied, the rich wants to get richer and the poor are still struggling to survive. The world is now full with poverty which is actually claiming lives everyday, with more struggles and less resources the world is in a state of survival of the fittest. The cause of poverty (corruption) is everywhere and except this is erased poverty will continue to increase everyday.
