We live in a world of consumerism. For consumerism to thrive, you need a free flow of money. This money comes from mainly one source ie. people who work for corporates.
Every company is driving towards more revenue. Is there a ceiling to the limit? It's the corporate greed that has made the world a not so good place to live.
How do companies make money? They manufacture a product, which is designed for working only a certain number of months or years (based on the product) and then the product will be of no use. This is called planned obsolescence.
Did you know that a light bulb that was manufactured almost 117 years ago, is still working perfect?

So, now think -
if a bulb can work for 117 years without any problem, why can't other electrical products like your mobile phones, TV's, Refrigerator, Washing Machines?
Now if you think about it, you'll get a clear picture that it's the companies who design such products. They can manufacture a vehicle which doesn't require maintenance, but they won't do it.
Because there's no money in making a product like that.
