Managing time with Eisenhower's matrix

The only valuable resource that one can't restore in own life is time. So if we want to be effective and efficient, we should know in situation where there is so much things that needs to be done (and that we want to do) and
too little time for all this stuff. And here the very nice and simple method can be very helpfull. I often use it myself and recommend you just to try it at least.

If you prefer video tutorial, you can watch this one from http://www.eisenhower.me/eisenhower-matrix/ :

In a nutshell:

The Eisenhower Matrix, also referred to as Urgent-Important Matrix, helps you prioritize tasks by urgency and importance, sorting out less urgent and important tasks which you should either delegate or not do at all.

How to use it?

I'm personally do following steps:

  1. Write to-do list of activities I want or need to do but haven't enough time (you also can just imagine this list in your mind)
  2. Divide all these actions into 4 categories :
    a) important and urgent
    b) important and not urgent
    c) not important and urgent
    d) important and not urgent.
  3. Follow next plan:

A. Important and Urgent

Just forget about everything and do it. Right now.

B. Important but not Urgent

Shedule these activities and do them after all from A is done

C. Not Important but Urgent

Delegate these actions to other people (your subordinate workers, friends, relatives, etc.)

D. Not Important and not Urgent

Just forget about them so far. It can happen that by that time you'll finish A, B, C, you don't need them any more at all
