The costs of working
When I thought about it, I thought if I posted it before, but I did not find it.
Maybe this is the idea that I had ready to post, and busy.org lost my draft.
This thread will be different than the draft that was lost, and not necessarily better.
I just try to recreate it.
People work in order to earn cash, but the work costs them:
- time
1.1. At work itself
1.2. on the way to and back from work
1.3. At times there are obligatory social activities past time
1.4. At times the work causes troubles or takes more time after work, while at home. For example my mother is a teacher and gets phone calls to her home, from school staff and from parents. - cash, due to:
2.1. lost opportunities such as trading/investing, price comparisons, exploration of opportunities - Health
3.1. less time for sleep, physical activities, relaxation and ejaculations.
3.2. More stress due to:
3.2.1. Schedule requirements
3.2.2. Fear of loss of the job
3.2.3. Ambitions and failed ambitions of promotion and the conflicts that they create
3.2.4. Possible additional risks such as physical, criminal or penal risks.
Some people have entitlements for money if they do not work.
I was surprised that some of these people are dumb enough (which is a lot) to either volunteer as some sub pathetic form of therapy, or because they "have nothing to do" otherwise, which is the worst kind of slaves.
For example, I talked with a depressive woman whose psychiatrist advises to volunteer at some store as a worker, and with a guard that receives a pension from his previous work place, and in addition works as a guard for minimum wage and is taxed on it, due to it being a second income that makes him surpass the taxation free threshold.
It means that the real benefit of his minimum wage work as a guard yields him below minimum wage returns.
Is not it sub pathetic?
He is a pierced ear slave (out of choice and dumb greed).
These slaves help keep prices lower, but they also keep wages lower, hurting the poor majority that has to work for a living.
