MY JOURNEY TO THE LION'S DEN
Its been an adventurous week, June 19 was a memorable birthday of a steemian @phunke my partner in @steemhelpinghand. We made a visit to the zoo at omu resort, It was the first time i could really see most animals I've seeing on movies and documentaries.
About omu resort
Omu resort is located in ibeju lekki Lagos Nigeria, it is a conservation, educational and entertainment environment that allows you to experience and get inspired by the wonders of nature.. Side attractions like the zoo, aquarium, birds and butterfly parks, swimming pools can be found in omu resort. first we visited the zoo which has so many fascinating animals, most of them are rare to find anywhere in Nigeria.
THE ZOO :
The dancing ostrich
This is an ostrich named Ali, it is a young few months old ostrich but can actually dance to any tune of music.. It was so hilarious..

The cobra
One of the most venomous snakes in the world
marabou storks
They have disgusting eating habits, they can eat anything even poop.
striped hyena
They have one of the strongest Jaws and eats every carcass of an animal even to the bones, hides, hairs and leave nothing behind
spotted hyena
Same as the striped hyenas only different in its body appearance. The female hyenas are larger and dominant than the male, their worse enemies are the lions.
caracal
They have excellent sense of hearing and are not afraid to attack animals three times their size.
The monitor lizard
They are carnivorous(flesh eating) lizards
They can devour anything, they are capable of dismembering and gulping down food.
Civet
A nocturnal animal(active mostly at night). It produces musk called civet a highly valued fragrance and stabilizing agent for perfume.
crocodile
They are narrow headed or V-shaped snort which makes them different from the alligators with U-shaped snorts. They have one of the most strongest bites or grasp
Alligator
They continue to grow throughout their lifetime, they are excellent climbers and have U-shaped snorts.
Baboons
Are world largest monkeys weighing up to 82 pounds
The porcupines
Are rodents with sharp spines to defend themselves. The male urinates on the female prior to mating,spraying urine at high velocity.
Jackal
Are fast animals, can run up to 40miles per hour, they produce siren-like howls when food is spotted.
serval cats
Are the fastest running cats after cheetah, they are known as the best hunters.
Mona monkeys
They respond to threats by freezing their bodies and become mobile when threat leaves
chimpanzees
Are known as man's closest relatives, they are 6-7 times stronger than humans.
geese
They are made of the goose and the gander, together they are called geese.
The tortoise
Are warm blooded animals which draws heat from their surroundings, they feed on leaves and can live as old as 200 years old.

One of the largest snakes in the world
The lion's den
Meet the lion called simba, it was always fed with live goats every Saturday,
i was really disappointed i couldn't watch the scene.
