What Scientific Discovery would Change the Course of Humanity Overnight if it was Discovered?

The Body/Mind Connection

One of the greatest mysteries of all time has to do with ourselves: discovering the causal links between the (objective/measurable) body and the (subjective/mostly-immeasurable) mind. Currently, we don't know exactly how the mind works and - at best - we have very loose correlations between (objective) physiological changes in the brain/body and (subjective) states of consciousness. 

Solving this mystery in the form of a scientific discovery would revolutionize industries of Health & Human Performance to the point where we could all become my powerful (both mentally & physically) human beings.

The A.I. Connection

Artificial Intelligence, once fully developed, would probably be the primary technology used to facilitate to facilitate this process. I would recommend checking out one of Elon Musk's companies called Neuralink: https://www.neuralink.com/

One of the things (of presumably many secret projects) Neuralink is working on is to decrease the amount of time it takes for the mind to access information via a device to connect the human brain with a computer.

Here are some quotes from Elon Musk about this company from his recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Podcast.

• "It will enable anyone who wants to have superhuman cognition."
• "How much smarter are you with a phone or computer or without? You're vastly smarter, actually... You can answer any question pretty much instantly."
• "Your phone is already an extension of you. You're already a cyborg. Most people don't realize you're already a cyborg. It's just that the data rate ... it's slow, very slow. It's like a tiny straw of information flow between your biological self and your digital self. We need to make that tiny straw like a giant river, a huge, high-bandwidth interface."
