Traditions: Excitement of "Maulidurrasul" in My Hometown

Upholds the Values of Traditions and Sunnah

This month is meaningful for Muslims who were in my hometown, Aceh, because in this month, if the following hjriyah calendar, it will be in Arabic 12 Rabi al-Awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. As usual, and has become a tradition, if the month of Rabiul Awal comes, the people will welcome it with delight.

The public ahead of time is already preparing needs of every kind of food and dishes in various types, for this month, the guests from beyond the village will be invited to a feast called "khanduri" in the Acehnese language. Khanduri meaningful party, and there are always lots of delicious foods.

In this tradition, which has evolved since hundreds of years ago, people not only enjoy dishes like a usual party, because people need prayers and thank God for having given birth figure man named "Muhammad", (the prophet of Muslims) to this world.

"Covered Dish"

The sentence that may be out of your mouth all, when looking at this picture is a unique and curious, because you are do not know what this is. Hm, this is a tool to serve food like a big hamper, in which there are various types of food that has been provided by the people who participate give part of his wealth without compensation, through a dish of food to guests and orphans.

Pesantren (Boarding School) Students

It is the students who come from boarding schools, they were dressed in uniforms, are white, they were invited to sing the "blessings", ie, the verses which contain hymns to God and gratitude for the prophet.

Steering Committee

The committee preparing all kinds of food, including bananas as a dessert to the guests in attendance. The guests who attended the event Maulidurrasul came from many groups, such as teachers, pesantren, traditional leaders, community leaders, orphans, and the community near the village.

Enjoy Dishes

All people enjoy a meal provided by the committee, and they share food with everyone, young and old, little children and adults.

Pray

Children pray before the meal beside them is opened. Maulidurrasul tradition was held in my hometown once every 1 year, and in its implementation, other villages are also taking another execution date, because there are 4 months of this celebration is made, namely Rabi al-Awwal, Rabi 'Al-Thani, Jumada Al-Awwal, and the last Jumadil Final.
