No Problem...
When did "no problem" replace other meaningful ways of expressing the gratitude of helping others?
I was taught to say "you're welcome" when someone thanked me for some helpful thing I did or said. The response is a sincere display (written or spoken) of how appreciative the person is of my action.
Today the "no problem" reverberation is everywhere. Maybe I'm just dated, but the reply comes across as an insincere to an action somehow has no idea how to answer. "Sorry for putting you out, I sure am glad it was not a problem."
Times change and so does communication, but we are seriously falling away from intent, meaning and directness of words.
Semantics suggests "thank you" remains the best response. I hope there was "no problem."
