When tragedy strikes

“Sometimes the most beautiful people are beautifully broken.”

Why does this happen to me?
After all the good that I have done, why does god hurt me like this?
I could never find a possible answer to these questions until now.
When tragedy strikes, how do you keep going?
Facing adversity is freaking hard and each one of us will have to face it at some point in our lives. I have often dealt with horrifying situations in life, and instead of seeing them as a gift, I saw them as a curse and it only made it that much worse. I used to think the pain was going to last forever, and that I could never bounce back from it. Well I’m here to tell you this is not true. The more attached you are to these negative events, the longer they will affect you.

So I decided that it was enough.
I needed to make a change.
I had to stop the pain from eating alive each fibre of my being.
I had to find and apply new meanings to what was happening to me.
When you face tragedy, you have two options :
You can either let it consume you forever, or you can choose to pick up the broken pieces that used to be your life to create something new and beautiful. You can make this next chapter all about healing and positivity. I promise that what life is bringing you next will fill the cracks in your heart. Be patient.

You don’t learn how to absorb tragedy in a book, just like you don’t choose when it will interrupt your life. Pain and suffering changes the way we perceive the world. It changes us . Through tragedy we become kinder to others, more compassionate, understanding, and humble. We grow as human beings and it teaches us a valuable lesson that we can either choose to see, or to ignore.

Seeing things from a positive perspective is almost like how a muscle works. The more you sharpen up and train that muscle, the better you will become at seeing the good in each and every situation.

I now take tragedy as a gift to reinvent myself into a better and stronger person. What did not kill me, only made me stronger. I am more resilient than ever and ready to face whatever life has in store for me.

I’m making a promise to myself to fight the good fight against negativity until my last breath. You should too!
