Hump Day Pick Me Up - Exploring new cafe in Toronto (Sorelle and Co.)

Apparently, this past Monday was called "Blue Monday" which is the most depressing day of the year.

This is calculated mathematically by considering the weather (lucky if you live in the warm region), debt level, amount of time since Christmas, time since falling short of New Year Resolutions (this is why I don't have any), low motivational levels and feeling of a need to take charge of the situation.

To be honest, I noticed many people around me are actually having a "Blue Week" instead - although "Blue Monday" has come and gone, many of them still look and feel so miserable. It is for this reason, on this hump day, I encourage everyone to do an activity that you generally enjoy and to pick yourself up.

One of my favourite pick me up activities is to check out new cafes in Toronto and I have to report that my recent favourite is this place called Sorelle and Co.

Sorelle and Co. is a very unique cafe as they make exclusively Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Sesame-Free, Nut-Free, Preservative Free and Vegan food and berverage items. Their unique approach to food by offering worry-free items for those who have special dietary needs is still considered rare.

The story behind this cafe is also quite unique - It began with five young sisters of a family (“Sorelle” means sister in Italian) who all have some sort of food allergies, including gluten, dairy, eggs, soy and nuts.

Motivated by her daughters’ dietary needs and her love for cooking, the mother of the family was determined to create a place where people with special dietary needs could breath easy to consume food at this cafe that are made with worry-free ingredients.

Quite frankly, I think Sorelle has something for everyone and could be enjoy regardless of dietary restrictions. Since photo speaks a thousand words. Let me share a few pics from my last visit to their Yorkville location (btw, their caffeine free latte and orange blueberries donut were to die for):
