1:st way (out of 5) to deal with stress: Meditation

in #life7 years ago

Since I hade my burnout (chronic fatigue syndrom caused by stress) I have gathered some good tools for dealing with stress.

  1. Meditation

If you never have tried meditation before, I can really recommend it. It helps you to let go of your thoughts, negative feelings and bodily pain. All is still there, but you do not identify with it, so you just watch it from your center where it is always peace. The benefits are many. You get better fokus, stronger immune system and are much more relaxed through out the day.

Here are some tips:
It is not about not thinking, because its first of all impossible (try) and secondary you will punish yourself when thinking. Its more about not to identify with thoughts, and see them as just thoughts and not reality.

Its also about just to accept anything EXACLY as it is right now, without any resistance. Its the resistance that is the problem, and if you meditate and look closely, you will find you have a lot of resistance towards hundreds of things without even knowing. You cant have resistance against a negative feeling or a longing towards peace. Both ways are NOT accepting what is.

So it is not easy and if you want me to write more about different meditation technics, please let me know!
