What's Causing Increase in Female Suicides?
NOTE: I wrote this post before reading @stevenpegge's well-written post (link below). It’s composed in response to the title. However, on reading this post, it seems I was on the mark.
A recent post by @stevenpegge brought to my attention a startling revelation that the suicide rate of middle-aged white women in the U.S. is at an all time high.
I have to admit this startles me; as, the msm always focuses on veterans, committing suicide at a rate of ~22 suicides everyday.
And, of course I took a few to ponder why this might be; and, clarity kicked in.
There’s a song, “Is That All There Is?” and for many entering the middle years of life, the answer is a resounding, YES!
Many women become empty-nesters overnight when the last kid moves out. Oftentimes, these women are now solo acts because of divorce, widowhood, or never marrying.
They have reached an age where men their age are looking at, and for, women half their age, and in many instances, getting lucky.
Let’s face it. There are a lot of young women who never had a father, and can appreciate the caring love of a man twice their age. This may sound sordid; but, isn’t meant to be. Research proves out the point; and, most know of a female relative who married someone twice their age, and lived quite a cared-for life.
Another reason, the suicide rate might be high is because, okay I’ll say it: Alcohol. There are very few social places one can go without alcohol being offered and ordered from the menu. Before long, alcohol becomes a friend that follows one home; and, in the lonely times, for many, it becomes an invisible ‘best friend’.
Lastly, and perhaps the one that stands out most, and is the root of the problem, a lack of spiritual peace that comes with getting in touch with the Holy Spirit within. Instead of living in the now, forgiving self and moving on, they ruminate on who they were in previous decades, with the inevitable reality that all the wrinkle and cellulite creams in the world won’t prevent the changes of life.
Of course, the reasons are many, and more than can be discussed in one post; but, suicide, checking out early, is realizing the answer to the question; and saying…eh, what the for.

Btw, never give up on one day of life on this earth. Savor it for all it does and does not offer. Live with a ‘never know’ , aka, ‘With God All Things Are Possible’ mentality; for the same God that turns the dark into light, can do the same for you (Matthew 19:26).
